How To Make the Most of Your EIW Gear Reducer with New Exchange Program

How To Make the Most of Your EIW Gear Reducer with New Exchange Program

March 4, 2021 |

Eagle Iron Works classic gear reducers are known for their longevity, often outlasting the rest of the machine and, in some cases, even outlasting the site itself.

Because not everyone requires a gear reducer that lasts for decades, EIW’s new Gear Reducer Exchange Program offers producers the ability to benefit from Eagle’s gear reducer at a fraction of the cost.

How the EIW Gear Reducer Exchange Program Works

EIW’s Gear Reducer Exchange Program has several aspects:

  • EIW Gear Reducer Exchange
  • Buying an EIW Rebuilt Gear Reducer
  • Buying a New Machine with an EIW Rebuilt Gear Reducer
  • Buyback of an EIW Gear Reducer

EIW Gear Reducer Exchange

The exchange portion of the program operates similar to a propane exchange program. If you need reducer instead of buying a new gear reducer, you can take advantage of the exchange or want to re-use your gear portion of the program in one of two ways.

First, you can purchase a rebuilt gear reducer that is on the shelf at EIW for its rebuilt price and send your gear reducer back to EIW to be rebuilt. After your gear reducer has been rebuilt, you will be credited the difference in cost.

Second, you can purchase a rebuilt gear reducer that is on the shelf at EIW for its rebuilt price and sell your gear reducer back to EIW to be rebuilt. The gear reducer does not have to be the same size as the rebuilt gear reducer off the shelf, but it is subject to inspection and EIW inventory needs.

The exchange portion of the program allows customers to be back up and running with a rebuilt gear reducer much faster than waiting on a new gear reducer.

Buying an EIW Rebuilt Gear Reducer

EIW keeps a stock of rebuilt reducers on the shelf for purchase. The rebuilt reducers have the same warranty as a new gear reducer but at a fraction of the price. These units are readily available and provide a savings for buying used instead of new.

Buying a New Machine with an EIW Rebuilt Gear Reducer

If you are buying a new EIW Fine Material Washer, you can opt to purchase the machine with a rebuilt reducer. The rebuilt reducer will have the same warranty that comes with new equipment. Depending on the size of the screw washer, this option could offer tremendous savings versus buying a machine with a new gear reducer.

Like the exchange portion of the program, you can take advantage of buying a new machine with a rebuilt gear reducer in one of two ways.

First, you can buy the new sand screw with the rebuilt gear reducer at a fraction of the price.

Second, you can buy the new Fine Material Washer without the gear reducer in conjunction with the exchange program to utilize your existing gear reducer.

Purchasing a readily available gear reducer on a new screw washer offers a savings for buying used instead of new, at a price point between EIW’s Classic Fine Material Washers and CONDOR Fine Material Washers.

Buyback of an EIW Gear Reducer

If you have an EIW gear reducer that you are no longer using and have no need for, you can sell the gear reducer back to EIW. The sale is subject to inspection of the unit and EIW inventory needs.

To see if EIW is interested in buying back your used gear reducer, first send a picture of the serial number or model plate so EIW can verify the gear reducer’s size and check current inventory levels of that size.

If EIW wants to buy the gear reducer back, you need to invoice EIW for the amount of the gear reducer and arrange freight for the gear reducer to be shipped back to EIW’s facility in Des Moines, Iowa.

The buyback portion of the Gear Reducer Exchange Program allows you to remove EIW gear reducers from your bone yard for trade-in or cash.

Benefits of EIW’s Gear Reducer Exchange Program

Each portion of the Gear Reducer Exchange Program has its own advantages, but the overall benefits of the program are readily available gear reducers with the same warranty as new gear reducers at a fraction of the price.

Readily Available

EIW keeps a stock of rebuilt gear reducers at its facility. These are available with little to no lead time, so customers can be back up and running quickly.

Same Warranty

EIW’s rebuilt gear reducers are backed by the same warranty as new gear reducers, so there is no risk purchasing used instead of new.

Cost Savings

Rebuilt gear reducers cost less to purchase than new gear reducers, so you will see a savings when buying used.

Whether you are in need of a new machine and want to purchase a used gear reducer, or you want to exchange an old EIW gear reducer for a rebuilt gear reducer, EIW’s Gear Reducer Exchange Program can save you downtime and money.

Contact EIW or your local EIW dealer to see what sizes of gear reducers are currently targeted for the program.
